Lisa Chavous is a singer from suburban Philadelphia who began singing in church choirs and family gatherings at a young age. She started performing with Chapter One in 1989 and won first prize at a jazz station talent contest in 1997.

Lisa formed various bands that became known as Lisa Chavous and Friends, performing at different venues in southeastern Pennsylvania. She has performed with jazz greats such as Byard Lancaster, Odean Pope, and Trudy Pitts, and regularly performs with former members of Patti LaBelle’s band. Her forte is singing jazz, blues, and R&B with soul, creating a powerful response from the audience.
